RECIPE: Okra and Tomatoes (A.k.a. Okra Gumbo)

I gravitated towards this recipe when the market was flooded with okra. I had done the fried thing enough and I didn't want a standard okra and tomatoes. The 8 slices of bacon definitely wet my appetite and the dish delivered. Tasted great over...

RECIPE: Double Roux Cajun Seafood Gumbo

certainly agree with "asimplegirl" ....not to get all offended, but people.... cajuns are from the acadiana area in Louisiana: ie: Lafayette, Breaux Bridge, New Iberia, etc.... while New Orleans is creole NOT cajun.... and no tomatoes or orkra...

I havent tried this recipe, but it looks pretty good. But just for clarification, this is not a Cajun gumbo, its creole... cajuns never put tomatoes in their gumbo! So if you want a true cajun gumbo omit the tomatoes, and personally i wouldn't...
