about me

Not much to say other then, I love to cook and I love food. But everyone has their exceptions. There are some things I just won't eat but, I won't get into that. I have a few "old recipes" from friends and family. I like everyone, I have tweaked and tweaked. But, I have a couple that I basically pulled out of my behind, because I was bored and there wasn't much in the refrigerator so, I just "threw" something together

Favorite Foods:

My passion, Italian food, what do you expect from a Sicilian who grew up in Boston. I was taken to the North End of Boston (The Little Italy of Boston) every other day and every weekend, where the best places to eat only had 4 or 5 tables and no "official" names of the place. (They were like family run kitchens in their basements or the first floors of their houses.) Oh those were the days. Now a day, it is more commercialized. The restaurants are bigger, but the food, the food is still the best. If you're ever in the North End, swing by Dolce Vita Ristorante on Hanover Street (http://www.dolcevitaristorante.com/default.html), it is the second restaurant on the right side of the street. Stop in and say Hi to Frank the owner. If his voice is up to it, he may even sing for you that night…

My all time favorite dish, Veal Braciolettini over a thin Linguini in a Pizziola sauce. I am pretty sure any Italian can whip this together. But, to do it correctly, that is an art... The veal has to be done just right... It has to fall apart so that you don't need a knife to cut it...

To all those that think eating veal is wrong? Think about that next time you crack an egg open...

But, if you can't deal you can switch it to chicken. It is just as good...

Next best thing is Hot and Spicy foods. You have to try my chili. (read the story behind my chili when you look up the recipe, it is funny what my friends have done in the past to each other with my chili.) Just remember slow and easy makes the best chili... I love Mexican food also. I am trying to get my roommates' sister in law (who is Mexican) to give me her guacamole recipe. She keeps refusing... It has to be the best on the planet.

Oh and to the guys at Chipotle. I have to give you your props... You have one of the best and simplest products made. I had one of your burritos about 4 years ago in Texas. The first thing I did was find a computer and try to franchise. They Do Not Franchise, Good for You!, You know what you got there. Keep a hold on it. Don't sell out to some conglomerate. That would mess everything up!
