I went on my dream vacation July 2008. My husband & I went to visit our oldest daughter, Stephanie. She is a Peace Corp Volunteer on Epi Island, Vanuatu. That's in the South Pacific Ocean! After visiting her and her island family, we took Stephanie for a weeklong vacation in Australia. That's me in the photo above, feeding kangaroos at the Lone Pine Sanctuary in Brisbane. While we were visiting Lone Pine I also got to hold a koala. Perhaps I loved these creatures so much because they had big brown eyes - like me! Details about our vacation are in my blog archives (July & August) at http://queenbee49444.blogspot.com/
Feel free to check it out and z-mail me if you have any comments or questions! I love talking about our adventure.
I have two other adult children. My son is the only one still living at "home." He is attending college and keeping our life interesting. His younger sister moved out last year. My nest is almost empty....
In addition to our human children We have two cats and our hyper English Setter, Duke. He'll swipe anything off the table if you're not looking. The two cats can be little terrors, too.
My cupboard is full of cookbooks but our favorite recipes have been copied into a special binder of family favorite recipes.
Since finding Recipezaar I have ignored the cupboard of cookbooks but I still enjoy reading new ones. Now some wonderful person has given me a gift - a Recipezaar membership. Thank you whoever you are. I truly appreciate the gift.
I enjoy reading, sewing, quilting, crocheting and crafting in my spare time. My biggest project so far has been my daughter's t-shirt memory quilt. I like to cook but do not like to clean-up.
My biggest pet peeve is people who micromanage! I won't say anymore.
Do to my love of sweets I also work-out at the local Y three or four times a week.
Since joining Zaar, I have found several new addictions - Swaps & PAC! Here are banners of some of the swaps I've participated in:

My favorite food is anything with chocolate - cake, candybars, pudding, brownies, frosting - I think you understand. Since I can't eat too much chocolate my favorite meal would consist of something chicken. I used to hate vegetables but over time, I've learned to like veggies.
I used to think that home cooking was either drive-through, carry-out or somebody delivers. I have resolved to change that philosophy and cook healthy foods at home. This is a problem since I don't eat pork or beef and my husband & son don't like fish and are getting tired of chicken & vegetarian. I think they sneak out for a greasy hamburger when I'm not watching.
Our favorite restaurant is Red Robin and a local "mom & pop" restaurant called Uncle Marks.
My new favorite websites (along with Recipezaar) include
sewmamasew.com,
FlyLady.net
walkertracker.com
sparkpeople.com
thecatsite.com
swap-bot.com
Along with the resolution to cook and eat healthy, I also resolved to be more physically fit and creative in 2008.
