about me

Hi,

No that's not me, but, my grandson, aged three at the time. He sure likes pasta.

I live in the south of Spain, in the Hills, high above Malaga, in Andalucia. Previously I lived in Asia, Europe, and Bermuda.
Through travel I have acquired many recipes, whenever we ate out I always asked for the recipe.

Now retired, from working as a Surgical Chiropodist, I have even more time for cooking. My wife makes breakfast and I cook the evening meal.
Being in Spain usually means that the weather is good and I prefer to cook outdoors. This is not unusual here as many people find it too hot in the summer to cook in the house. I have a small camping type gas hob and my all time favorite cooker, my Weber gas powered b.b.q. It grills, works as an oven is so simple. No smells in the house and not much to clean up after cooking.

There is nothing that we won't eat. Pasta, rice, and vegetable dishes, and of course fish and meat. But I prefer the spiciness of a curry. Roast meat and Yorkshire pudding takes some beating for Sunday roast, and it's traditional.

I have posted a few recipes but only if I have cooked them. I see no point in posting something you haven't tried. Having said that I could post 1000s of recipes , I have them scribbled down on scraps of paper, serviettes, cigarette packets and what ever was at hand at the time.

I log onto recipezaar everyday, to see who's cooking what.

When I post a comment on a recipe I try to be helpful and encouraging.

Favorite Foods:

My favorite food is a good curry. I love cooking it.

The meal will be :- rice, dhal, fish, prawns, chicken, beef, lamb, and vegetable dishes. Served with chutney, and sliced bananas in lime juice, etc. etc.

Having said all that I can't always buy the spices here in Spain and have to drive to Gibraltar (the Rock). The drive takes four hours each way but it's worth it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope that will enjoy my recipes, as much as I enjoy yours.

Hope you all have a warm summer and that you can cook outdoors, too, it's a simple way to cook. Light the B.B.Q.we do almost every day.

Good luck and happy cooking.
