I live in Zagreb, Croatia. I am Croatian Army officer for 17 years; lt.col. I ski quite good, and I like hiking. My favourite cookbooks are schoolbooks from Cooking High School in Zagreb. You can find everything there. They are basic for any recipe, you can learn everything you need. All the recipes I've posted here were tried, succefully. I've done it all. I'm also a gastronomic minimalist - I don'l like to much fancy food. I like it simple.

Favorite Foods:

I like Croatian domestic cooking, but I'm also fan of Middle Eastern cousine. Especially Turkish food. I like to eat game, than Dalmatian food (similar to Italian but simplier). My favourite restaurants are small 3-5 tables restaurants in Zagreb or Dalmatia where you can eat domestic food. As you can see from submitted Croatian recipes we eat simple food without too many interruptions; we like the original taste (meat, fish etc.) not spoiled with various seasoning, gravies, sauces etc.
