about me

Hi, I'm Stephanie and I live in California with my husband and daughter who is in college - so I am either cooking for two or three.

I like cooking, and love to read cookbooks and recipes. I also love browsing in gourmet food stores, watching the Food Network, and of course hanging out on the Zaar!

My philosophy is that recipes are not set in stone. I don't think twice if I want to be creative with recipes and change them so the dish works for me and my family. Plese feel free to do the same with my recipes.

I like simple recipes and really appreciate short-cuts, like ready-made mixes or canned items. I don't do any baking - at my house it's mostly about getting a delicious dinner on the table. On the weekends, we frequently go to the cental coast area of Califoria to relax, and I usually try new breakfast recipes when we're there. And, I love desserts, but I really don't make them often.

Non-food interests include reading, small RV trips, and sometimes playing golf - I'm a beginner.

My favorite must be seafood!

My specialties are cooking salmon or shrimp lots of different ways.

My favorite restaurant is in Pismo Beach, California. It is a locally owned, gourmet Italian place called Giuseppe's. My favorite dish there is called The Lover's Plate. It has bacon wrapped shrimp on fresh rosemary skewers grilled over olive wood(I think) and served with butternut squash ravioli drizzled with a light cream sauce. Oh, yeah!
