Szechwan Beef Stir-Fry Us Family Style

Entered for safe-keeping. From North Dakota Beef Commission, found in "Favorite Brand Name Best-Loved Chinese Recipes and More". This is a toned down version that might be made for a US family.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Cut steak lengthwise into 2 strips; slice across the grain into 1/8-inch strips.

    Combine soy sauce, 2 teaspoons oil, sugar and cornstarch; stir into strips.

    Heat remaining 2 teaspoons sesame oil in large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. 4
    Add garlic, ginger, and crushed red pepper; cook 30 seconds.
  5. 5
    Add bell pepper and corn; stir-fry 1 1/2 minutes.

    Add pea pods; stir-fry 30 seconds.

    Remove vegetables.

    Stir-gry beef strips (1/2 at a time) 2-3 minutes.

    Return vegetables and beef to skillet; heat through.

    Serve over hot cooked rice.

this is a super easy stir fry dish. we love hot stuff, so I added some hot sesame oil as I served. The baby corn and pea pods are alwaaaaaaaaaysss a good addition and I was able to pic up some (discount-bargain) round steak sliced very thin for about $1.25.. heck, the corn cost more than that. LOL Tagged in the newest tag and so.. glad we did. good one, KateL.
