In the middle of cooking I was searching my fridge for my Hoisin sauce..but no such luck. I know it's here somewhere. Then I was going to substitute as some others did with oyster sauce but the date on my bottle was either buy before or use before and I wasn't sure but it was past due and I didn't want to take a chance. So I made this dish without either of the sauces....darn....but it still tasted real delicious. It needed a little sweetness which I guess comes from the Hoisin sauce, but next time I will make sure it is added. As well I would put in more crushed red pepper, I didn't find it spicy at all. I also used Udon noodles...mmmmmm. My DD enjoyed this as well, and we know teenagers. It made for a nice change. Thanks for posting this wonderful recipe.

I've made this three times now, once with green onion and twice without, and all three times using spaghetti instead of vermicelli. It works great as an alternative meat sauce for those noodles.

This was very simple to make. I only had ground pork on hand so I used that. Also I only had a little bit of hoisin sauce so I used oyster sauce instead. Everyone in our house loved this, even my daughter who does not like meat. I made this in the morning and it reheated well for supper. Thanks for the recipe.

This recipe was mentioned on one of the 'what's for dinner' threads and when I looked at it I knew it was going to be something my family would like. It's one of those a little bit of meat goes a long way type recipes..not to mention the great flavours. Quick and easy to put together. Thanks for sharing.
