This cleaning trick is amazing! I followed the advice of the other reviewers by microwaving for 5 minutes and letting it sit afterward for 10 minutes. All that gunk wiped off easily with a paper towel. Thanks so much!

This worked wonderfully for me. The key here, I think, is that you need to bring the water to a boil and then let it boil for the 20 seconds stated. 20 seconds total won't do much more than warm the water. I nuked it on high for about 4 minutes, then left it in there with the door closed for about 10 minutes. After that, everything wiped off with minimal scrubbing. Thanks for posting this...this will definitely be part of my kitchen cleaning rotation, as I'm the ONLY one in the house who bothers to wipe up splatters in the microwave.

This is the ONLY way I will ever clean my microwave again. I used 1 cup of water & about 3 tablespoons of lemon juice, microwaved for 5 minutes and let it sit for about 5 minutes. The crud wiped off with a damp cloth. Consider me impressed!
