Your Basic Smores

Recipe #64984 | 7 min | 2 min prep | add private note

By: Little Old Me

An American classic.. S'mores got their name from the phrase; "Give me Some more!" A favorite for around the camp fire.

SERVES 1 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Toast one marshmallow until a light golden color.
  2. 2
Top with 2 squares of chocolate.
  3. 3
Sandwich between one graham cracker, broken in half (that would be 4 separate grahams, 2 on either side of the s'more).
  4. 4
To toast while camping, push the marshmallow on a long stick and turn constantly over an open fire.
  5. 5
To toast at home, pop in a preheated oven on a cookie sheet and watch closely! (usually about 2 minutes).

Yummy! We don't get Graham Crackers here but so I used Digestive biscuits instead. They were a real hit on our recent camping trip. Thanks!

I loved making s'mores as a kid while Girl Scout Camping! But here are a few more variatons that might be helpful! If you have young children, instead of having them toast the marshmallow over the fire you can assemble the sandwhich and place in a pices of foil and then put on fire, (this is much safer then having young child getting potentically burned). 2nd variation, cooking at home! place one gram cracker ona a plate wiht square of chocolate and marshmallow on top, microwave for approx. 2 minutes and then top with other garm cracker and enjoy! hope this helped!

These are great, but I have found something even better...Take two chocolate chip cookies and warm over the fire and then put the roast marshmellow between the two..Oh my good this is just to die for, I can't have a camp fire anymore without my cookies and marshmellows....
