This is a great summer meal and quick and easy to put together and tastes wonderful. Refreshing served with the cucumber sauce and is even low in fat. I think this came from Quick Cooking. It's a favorite in our house.

This was the third time I made this recipe and it was great. I did make some changes, in how it is cooked. I diced a quarter of a sweet onion and sauted it in olive oil. Then I mixed the beef up with the spices and cooked that in the pan. The result was similar to the consistency of taco meat. The taste was great and it was easier for us to handle. We just filled up the pita with meat, lettuce, tomato, sauce (which I got store bought), and feta. It was great! I added some chopped Kalamata olives to mine as well. Yum!

Very delicious! Even my Egyptian husband was impressed (which was exactly what I was going for)! I also think I overcooked the meat, but I'm still kind of a novice in the kitchen. For the sauce, I cut the sugar and added a little fresh mint. Overall, they were really a treat. I will definitely make them again.

This was an easy and tasty recipe. I added some mint and lemon juice to the tzatzki sauce (following one of the other tzatzki recipes here), but other than that made no changes. The meal was fantastic. They really taste like gyros, and I should know, I used to work in a Greek fast food place where we served them! I served this with spinach as a veg and made a complete dinner. Very tasty!

Scrumdiddlyumpshus! I used minced garlic instead of powder, and onion salt instead of powder and salt. It's great! I wasn't overly thrilled with the sauce as I found it a bit too sweet, but maybe without so much sugar? I'll definitely make this recipe again and THANK YOU FOR SHARING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
