I've had split pea soup in the past in the restaurants, but it was never something I enjoyed much. I just assumed I did not like split pea. But, I wasn't sure about that since I've never made the soup. So, when I bought honey baked ham and did not want to just throw away the bone, I decided I'm going to try making split pea soup. So glad I did. What a wonderful taste experience. Now, I'm a converted split pea soup lover! Thank you JackieO for posting this recipe.
