Rolo Pretzel " Cookies"

Recipe #148951 | 17 min | 15 min prep | add private note

By: Satisfied Kris
Dec 21, 2005

The only reason I added the word "Cookie" to the title of this recipe was because I took them to a cookie exchange. I guess, legitimately, they're a snack. Picky! Picky! Just consider them "GOOD"! Most of the "prep" time is unwrapping the Rolos.

SERVES 48 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. 2
Place unbroken mini knotted pretzels in one layer onto a cookie sheet.
  3. 3
Unwrap the "Rolos" and place one on top of each pretzel.
  4. 4
Slide the cookie sheet into the oven for 2 to 2 1/2 minutes (until Rolos get shiny, but still hold their shape.
  5. 5
Take cookie sheet out of oven.
  6. 6
Place another unbroken pretzel on top of each Rolo and press down.
  7. 7
Place cookie sheet in freezer for @ 10 minutes for chocolate to re-set.
  8. 8
Scrape pretzels off of cookie sheet with spatula.
  9. 9
NOTE: Do not try to slide Rolo Pretzels off of cookie sheet if chocolate isn't set - the chocolate will smear all over the place. If you don't want to do the "freeze" method, wait about 1/2 an hour and then "pick up" each Rolo Pretzel and set it somewhere to cool completely (It's going to take a while).
  10. 10
I usually get 48 "cookies" on one cookie sheet.

Easy recipe. I baked mine @275 for 3-5 minutes, removed, and added an assortment of white chocolate chips, peanut m&m's, and a second pretzel. Sat in fridge for 20-30 minutes then placed in lined tins. YUM! Didn't last long.

This is a YUMMY snack. I make mine with the small square pretzels and just put the rolo on top of the 1 pretzel- no top pretzel. VERY GOOD !!

Wow this was super easy to add to my holiday cookie trays. Everyone loved them and they were the ones I spent the least time on. I will be sure to add to my regular cookie list. I did substitute carmel Hershey Kisses for the Rolos and I think next time I will be using Rolos as the Kisses are just too soft to start out with and the centers turn to liquid in no time.

This is a great recipe. I use holiday prezels (bell shaped, star shaped, etc.) After baking, I place a holiday colored M&M on top instead of another pretzel. YUMMMM! They always go fast! This is an easy one to do with kids too.
