Crumbled Thai Beef

Recipe #102495 | 15 min | 5 min prep | add private note

I got this one from Nigella. It is SO easy and very tasty. Nigella recommends serving it in lettuce wraps, but I have used it in tortillas and even as the filling for spring rolls which were to die for! Enjoy.

SERVES 2 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Put the oil in a frying pan and saute for a couple of minutes until aromatic.
  2. 2
Add the beef and cook stirring over high heat until browned.
  3. 3
Add the fish sauce and cook until all the liquid has evaporated.
  4. 4
Toss in the spring onions, juice and coriander.
  5. 5
That's it- ready to serve as you wish (if you can stop eating it straight from the pan!).

Great, but some subs that I want to note because I want to be able to make it again. I used hot pepper powder instead of peppers, lemon juice, chopped shallots, ground coriander powder, some red curry paste for extra taste and some ground coconut. Used for the filling for wraps.

This was great and very easy! Can be made with groung pork, chicken or turkey as well. I added 1 clove minced garlic and 1/2 teaspoon fresh grated ginger. The cilantro I had to hold off to put on my on at serving because DH won`t eat it. Lime juice is my prefernce. As you see in the pictures I uploaded I served it with Peanut Satay Sauce # 99782 (good stuff) wrapped in lettuce leaves. OOOOh this was good!—
